The short version
Vehicle Score is a game about spotting cars, not about collecting your data. We keep the minimum needed to run your account and the game, we strip photo metadata before anything leaves your device, we never store your exact location, and you can delete your data at any time.
What we collect
Account: your email, username, chosen country, and optional profile picture. Gameplay: your garage (unlocked vehicles), XP, achievements, scan results, and friends list. Scans: the photo or short clip you capture of a vehicle, used to identify it. Approximate location (optional): if you allow it, the area where you found a car — coarsened to roughly 1 km before it is stored. We never store precise coordinates.
What we strip and never keep
Photos are re-encoded on your device before upload, which removes all EXIF metadata — including GPS position, device identifiers, and timestamps. We do not collect your contacts, your precise movements, or advertising identifiers. Scan photos should be of vehicles; please avoid capturing people. License plates and faces that appear in captures are scheduled for automatic blurring as the beta matures, and captures are never shown publicly without your permission.
How your data is used
To run the game: identifying vehicles you scan, awarding XP, and ranking leaderboards (country leaderboards use only the country you chose at sign-up). If you leave “Help improve recognition” enabled in Privacy settings, your verified scans may also be used — anonymised and stripped of metadata — to improve the vehicle-recognition model. You can turn this off at any time; it stops future use.
What others can see
Your username, country flag, level, XP, and collection counts appear on leaderboards. Your profile is private by default; the “Public profile” toggle controls whether your garage can be shared. Your email is never shown to other players.
Storage and security
Account data is stored with our database provider (Supabase/Postgres) with row-level security: your rows are readable and writable only by you. Scan images live in a private storage bucket accessed through short-lived signed URLs. Passwords are handled by the authentication provider and are never stored in plain text.
Your rights
You can update your username, country, and picture at any time; delete individual captures; or delete your entire account and its data. In demo mode, all data lives only on your device and is removed by the in-app Reset. For data requests, contact us at the address below.
Children
Vehicle Score is not directed at children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your region), and we do not knowingly collect their data.
